In business, we need to create a thriving network of people who loves you. We need people who are excited to hear from you and are waiting for your next product to launch. We need those who will not think twice about buying your products and services. So how do you do this? How do you build your thriving community of fans that will buy anything from you?
Why Build Your Tribe?
People don’t buy your product, they buy you.
So instead of talking about your products, talk about yourself first. People should know you more than they should know what you’re selling. The more people know you, the easier for you to convince them to buy whatever product you have! Your vibe attracts your tribe!
People need to see social proof to take action.
When people are part of the community they can easily seek social proof. This is because they see members of the community following your methods or system. They see people who have bought from you and have enjoyed your products and services. So basically, people are seeing results and when people see results, they buy.
People need accountability to take action.
In a tribe, you don’t always call the shots. It’s the people who usually would encourage each other to do things. People get influenced by the things they see. When they see people work, others follow. When people make others feel accountable, they will move and do what is asked of them. That’s why when somebody is part of a tribe, results are higher.
People need support to go to the next step.
In the first days or months in building your business, usually, you are your customer service personnel. You handle your customers’ queries, complaints, and order transactions. But as your business grows bigger, you will find being a “one-man-band” extremely stressful. It will be harder for you to offer support to people. However, if you have a community, the people in it will take care of themselves. In the community, when a person asks, more than 1 other person will step in and offer support. With a community, your work and your life become easy. This is because the community will be there for you to do your work.
You need to build the business to run without you.
After a point in time, your business will start growing on its own. If your community and system are in place, your tribe, together with your business, will grow organically and exponentially. At this point, you don’t have to do much except adding value to your community. Your community will do all the hard work for you.
Where to Build Your Tribe?
There are several ways and places to build your tribe.
Closed Facebook Groups
You can create a Closed Facebook group and lead everyone there. Closed Facebook groups are a way to demonstrate thought leadership and provide value to potential customers. It’s the best way to build and communicate with your tribe especially for first-time business owners.
Whatsapp Groups
You can also create a WhatsApp group where you can bring all your conversation and content in one place. The beauty of a WhatsApp group is that it makes it easy to deliver timely and authentic conversation, provide a level of support, and build relationships with your tribe. Your community will, literally never miss a thing with Whatsapp.
Telegram Groups
Another option is a Telegram group. Telegram groups are a powerful tool for building communities. You can have any number of people with Telegram and sort them into groups. You can have a separate group for your team and business to coordinate with work, answer questions, and keep in touch with business partners and investors. With Telegram, you and your tribe will be able to share photos and plans, among other things.
Your Own Platform
Lastly, your own platform. Create your platform where you can engage your tribe. One good example would be Mighty Networks. Something like Mighty Networks will help you bring your community, online courses, and memberships together in one place – all under your brand.

It’s never an easy feat to build a tribe. This will not happen overnight. Effort is always the key. If you put in a lot of effort to grow your tribe, your tribe will evolve. In the long term, the tribe will grow on its own. As a result, your product will also grow on its own. Then, the people in your ever-growing community will market your products and services on your behalf.
Always remember, if you believe you have something of value to share with the world, don’t be in the mode of selling rather be in the mode of nurturing. Once you have a tribe that you nurture, the selling will automatically happen.
