Who will sign up for your coaching if you give away everything in your book?

Are you a coach who’s thinking of giving away all the good stuff you teach in your book? You know in your heart that it could be a good idea, right? But you are also in doubt, beating yourself with the question lingering on your mind, “Will I ever get people to take up my coaching after sharing everything they need to know through my book?”

I sense your dilemma and I will attempt to resolve that for you!

To get you out of a tight spot, I will debunk a (nothing but a) myth and tell you 3 reasons why your readers will still sign up for your coaching.

I work predominantly with coaches and I help them to write, publish and market their book. One stumbling block every coach has while writing their book is these questions that you may have also asked yourself MANY times,

“Should I share everything that I teach in my book?”

“Am I giving away too many things about my program inside my book?”

“Will people read my book and still take up my coaching?”

“Why would people take up my coaching when I’m already giving everything they need to know inside my book?!”

Let me tell you one thing upfront, your book has to be valuable!

More often than not, the first great touchpoint you will have with a person is through your book. So don’t miss the chance to make a strong first impression with your readers. Give them that “one small win” inspired by your message shared in your book so that you may also win their trust and get them to believe your system.

It should always be a win-win situation!

Holding anything back from your readers is something I can never recommend coaches to do. Always remember that you need to have that abundant mindset of giving first before you can start receiving. Be generous enough to share anything you teach to your coaching clients inside your book. It’s absolutely okay to just raise the curtains and explain your entire blueprint or formula that you teach to your coaching clients through your book.

No holds barred!

Here is the thing, everybody who reads your book will not be an action taker, right? They may read your book, they may feel good and be motivated but that’s it! Only a small percentage of them will want to work with you and those are the kinds of people for who you’re actually writing your book.

Now, you might ask yourself, “Will these action takers still sign up for your coaching?”

The answer is YES.

And they would do this for 3 reasons.

Reason #1: One-on-one access to you

These readers will start looking up to you as a Thought Leader after they finish reading your book. To them, it’s like spending hours inside your brain just by reading your book. And as soon as they put your book down, these action takers would want to know more, experience more, and hear more of what other life-changing advice and hacks you can add and share with them. So telling your readers that you also have a Coaching Program would be the icing on the cake, especially for the action takers, as you are giving them access to you. People pay Premium to get that one-on-one access with somebody whom they idolize, knowing that somebody has the expertise, the formula, and system for Success.

That one-on-one access is one reason why people would want to take the next step and work with you.

Reason #2: Accountability

Action takers want to be held accountable at all times to reach their goals. They wouldn’t mind paying extra to someone who would ask them or question them if they’ve done what was asked of them and be given deadlines. This is because people who love to take action have high goals and targets ahead of them so they wouldn’t mind paying more just to get that extra level of accountability. It’s almost as if the key for action takers is nagging.

Again, the reason why people will still sign up for your coaching is that an extra level of accountability is promoted inside your Coaching System which they are more than willing to accept just so they can get to where they want to be.

Reason #3: The personalization inside your Coaching Program

In your book, you might have explained how a person can go from point A to point B. However, not everyone starts at point A and everyone’s situation is unique and different. Based on where they are at now as a coach, you will be able to customize your system and tailor fit it accordingly so that they have the opportunity to learn at their own pace.

People value the level of detailing such as when you show them exactly how and hand-hold them as they get from point A to point B. This is something that can’t all be done in a book. A book is like a buffet spread and you are the dietician who picks and chooses the right ingredients and right dishes for that person. This is why people would love to pay you extra just for you to allow them to be a part of your coaching program.

So remove that notion that nobody is going to sign up for your coaching program just because you feel you have shared everything there is to know in your book. Give as much value as possible inside your book. However, DO REMEMBER that a small fraction of those who read your book will want to sign up for your coaching. These are the people who value these three things:

Reason #1: One-on-one access to you

Reason #2: Accountability

Reason #3: The personalization inside your Coaching Program
